The policy was reviewed and revised particularly to address the replacement of the Fire

Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (with

their amendments). These have been replaced by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)

Order 2005, which came into force on October 1st 2006. Other revisions to reflect the

changes introduced by the amalgamation of the predecessor organisations to form

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have also been included.

This policy is to provide and maintain a safe and health working environment.  The Trust also accepts its responsibilities for the health and safety of staff, patients, visitors and outside contractors invited onto it€™s premises.

This document outlines the procedure to follow at notification of a new, expectant or nursing mother. This procedure aims to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the new, expectant or nursing mother by minimising any hazards and reducing risk.

Local Police liaison and safety provision involves a range of interventions and the purpose of this policy is to ensure clarity and consistency with regard to Police liaison across the Trust with the aim of providing safe and supportive services.
