The policy was reviewed and revised particularly to address the replacement of the Fire
Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (with
their amendments). These have been replaced by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)
Order 2005, which came into force on October 1st 2006. Other revisions to reflect the
changes introduced by the amalgamation of the predecessor organisations to form
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have also been included.
